FWCC Section of the Americas Digital Quaker Glossary

Quakers speak over 70 languages in 85 countries worldwide. The FWCC Section of the Americas has recently created a Digital Quaker Glossary which is available for all Friends around the world to use. Initially the glossary translates between English and Spanish but this will be expanded to other languages in the coming months and years.

The FWCC Section of the Americas has been dedicated to conducting its business in a bilingual Spanish-English fashion for over forty years. This long-standing tradition has fostered meaningful exchanges among various branches of Quakerism throughout the entire Section. As a result, there is an increasing need for improved communication across languages.

Within EMES there are Quakers in around 25 countries speaking over 25 languages. In the past few years we have started experimenting with interpretation at our annual meetings and some online meetings.
