Visit to Am'ari Play Centre - March 2010
Whilst in Ramallah for the Centennial Celebrations for the Friends Meeting House, European Friends Penny Heymans of Kvekerhjelp, Sue and Tofte Frykman of Kvakarhjalpen and Marisa Johnson visited the Am’ari Play Centre in one of the refugee camps at the edge of Ramallah.
There are 36 children in the class this year. Although officially called a “Play Centre”, the project offers pre-school education to the children. Parents value this, as it helps the children settle better into formal school, which they start at the age of 6.
