Introducing our Assistant Secretary
We are very pleased to announce that Michael Eccles will be joining our small team as Assistant Secretary from March 2018. Michael needs no introduction to many Friends in the Quaker World. As well as his work for Woodbrooke, Michael has undertaken travel in the Ministry within our Section, most recently in the Baltic countries, has served as co-clerk of the FWCC strategy review work at the plenary meeting in Pisac in 2016, and on the board of Friends House Moscow.
Making the announcement, Marisa Johnson, Executive Secretary, said: “I could not be more pleased to have Michael as a colleague at EMES. We had an exceptionally strong field of candidates, and interviewed some excellent Friends whose enthusiasm and experience I hope we shall find ways of harnessing. Michael’s depth and breadth of Quaker experience stood out nevertheless – his experience of running the Young Adult Leadership Programme at Woodbrooke will be especially precious to us as we seek to develop a new Quaker Youth Pilgrimage Programme across the whole of the Quaker world, and new opportunities for teen-agers within our Section.”
